La Flaga Webring News

BOAS has been coding like mad today to bring some updates to the Flagasphere!

Wandering Samurai Chronology

Watsuki Sensei's famous Tale of the Meiji Era, Rurouni Kenshin has a certain timelessness to the story that makes viewing the work in any order wonderful. However, here are two consistent sequences that most anime viewers enjoy:
1. Time Consistent: Rurouni Kenshin OVA: Trust ->Rurouni Kenshin OVA:Betrayal ->Rurouni Kenshin TV series -> Rurouni Kenshin OVA: Reflections.
2. Manga Consistent: Rurouni Kenshin TV series ->Rurouni Kenshin OVA: Trust -> Rurouni Kenshin OVA: Betrayal ->Rurouni Kenshin OVA: Reflections.
And there you have it.

Winter Holiday Boredom Fix

Even though it's past Christmas, i.e. the most boring day of the year; winter break is a long monotony of family, rain, more rain, and nothing to do. Hence here are some cool websites that will eat hours upon hours of your very existence.
1. Machinima: Cinema a la Jeux de Video. Don't worry it's not in French but here you can view innovative and hilarious cinematic works done with in-game video engines.
2. The Daily WTF: I've mentioned this one before; for the programmers.
3. Anime Galleries Net: Tons of pics. A mountain of effort just to view them all!

Honey & Clover Special 1/2

Included on the DVD version of the series in Japan, it's a gaiden episode with little or no concern to the storyline. Still it has the ham man!

Memoirs of a Geisha

This is one movie I really want to see this year. I mean giant Apes and Lions are fun but the mystical wonders of the Animal Universe (They can wait for DVDs). But Memoirs of a Geisha offers mystical wonders of a different kind... Anyway, how is it that the two main Geisha actresses are played by Chinese women? No offense to Zhang Ziyi or anything but did they not have casting in Japan for the main role? As it stands it looks like a bad union of Crouching Tiger and The Last Samurai... Oh the horror. Regardless, I wanna see this movie!

Erudite

Have you ever found yourself being too erudite for your own good? Stay with me now ye of little attention; imagine that you're with friends who you haven't seen in some time and suddenly a mundane question or proposition turns into an onslaught of calculus and number theory. One asserts that all integers are interesting and then goes on to prove the claim through mathematical induction. Or another questions how to make cars go faster and their aquaintance speeks greek about the flux of the wind vector field across the infinitessimal surface area of the car body. Are these people being learned or just jerkasses? That's for you to decide, but consider if you will Sigmund Freud's theory of fixations while judging those who would seem like total jerks without.
