Zinedine Zidane

The shot heard all around the world was aimed straight at the chest of Materzzi in overtime of the World Cup final. Shortly thereafter, Zidane was given a red card and sent off the field in disgrace. But please don't think that football was ever that simple. Zidane's red card might have the final and defining moment of this World Cup but this tournament saw a plethora of red. From the early stages to Wayne Rooney and lastly Zidane this was an ugly competition. Despite that Zidane still has the admiration of many including this one and was awarded the Golden Ball as this year's World Cup MVP.
